The WESSLING Forum 2008
A Festival of Ideas on our 25th Anniversary
Taking water samples, analysing groceries, ensuring the safety of feeding material, integrating environmental safety procedures into production – that is our everyday life at the service provider WESSLING.
Thousands of laboratory analyses are conducted daily in 30 european locations. We provide a multitude of engineer-technical services for industry, trade, government and organisations. What are tomorrow´s topics, how do they influence these activities and what are the chances they offer? Marking the occasion of its 25th birthday, our company, whose head office is located in Altenberge, has launched a series of lectures to look at issues of today and tomorrow.
The WESSLING-Forum 2008 wants to give its clients and cooperation partners the opportunity to start a dialogue with leading personalities from different fields of science and be inspired from current insight. What is the role of ethics in business and science? Is it tomorrow´s capital? How can we save resources and what is the energy of the future? What can we expect from Nano Technology and what opportunities lie in Molecular Biology? The audience will get a chance to find inspiration for their day-to-day business, because these central topics of the future will have immediate impact on their work and will be a source of inspiration for company strategies.
The WESSLING-Forum will take place in different locations in Germany (Münster, Berlin and Heidelberg) as well as in Budapest, Hungary. With this forum, WESSLING wants to fulfill its commitment to improve quality, safety, environment and health – thereby advancing the quality of life. This is one of the principles of WESSLING´s business ethics.
Company owner Dr. Erwin Wessling opens the WESSLING-Forum with a lecture on “Ethics in Business and Science”.
Professor Dr. Dr. hc. mult. Hans Lenk (President of the International Institute of Philosophy), speaking about the fascination of achievement in teamwork and business consultant Dr. Helmut Geiselhart, looking at “The Concept of Man” in current business strucures, will provide entertaining and imaginative talks. Can a different image of man lead to a new understanding of enterprises – linked (integrated), self organizing, border-crossing? Prof. Dr. Dr. Michael Kastner will deal with the question of internal communication in companies: How do leading executives take on the socio– economic challenges and avert disruptions (failures) of communication?
The next WESSLING–Forum will be held on June 12 in the Umspannwerk Berlin about the subject: “Resources and Energy“. Resources and energy are subject to scarcity and will therefore be a topic for everyone – especially so for WESSLING that is always a step ahead when developing innovative services. Prof. Dr. Andreas Troge, President of the Federal Environmental Agency and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christof Wetter (Polytechnical Institute Münster) will hold lectures about these topics. “The Evolutionary Enterprise” will be in the focus of Dr. Manfred Sliwka, Member of the Board of the Club of Vienna.
On July 24, in the Print Media Academy, Heidelberg, the forum will discuss “Nano Technology and Molecular Science”. WESSLING Budapest will organise an event about “Quality of Life”.
