ElektroG
Based on your information it is assumed that your device does not fall into the scope of the ElektroG (German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act).
According to Appendix 1 of the ElektroG stationary industrial largescale tools, implanted and infectious medical products are excluded from the scope of this Act. Only the substance prohibitions according to ยง 5 of the ElektroG apply to filament lamps and light fixtures in households.
Appliances which would indeed fall into the scope of the Act when considered individually but which are merely a part of an appliance excluded from the scope of the ElektroG are not subject to the requirements of the ElektroG.
This does not imply that no special provisions with regard to putting into circulation, taking back, reuse or disposal have been defined for the equipment mentioned above. They have just not been defined in the ElektroG. Today the law relating to waste disposal - just as many other fields of the law relating to the environment - is implemented by means of several ordinances and other rules and regulations. Any attempt to list and explain them in detail would go beyond the scope of this service reply.
